Little Poser

Here lately Landon is LOVING the camera. Like I said in the previous post, he will bring the camera to me or Paul and then say, "Cheese". It is so funny. The other day Paul saw that Landon was just sitting still watching television, and being so good. So Paul got the camera down and asked Landon to say, "Cheese". Well, that was that needed to be said, Landon started hamming it up for the camera. He loved it, and was just posing away. I just hope he is this cooperative next time we take "real" pictures.

Isn't he just adorable?! I love that boy.

Say Cheese and More of Landon's Antics

Landon has become fascinated with EVERYTHING: the TV, the microwave, light switches, clocks, the dishwasher, doors and locks, cameras, phones, etc. If it has buttons, knobs, doors, switches, anything that he can push, pull, twist, turn, take apart and put back together, Landon wants to check it out. He has recently started bringing my camera to me, and then he will say, "Cheese" and flash me a real cheesy (but sweet) grin.

Like I said earlier Landon has also become fascinated with doors and locks. He can now open all the doors in the house, which can be VERY scary and dangerous since his bedroom is upstairs. I didn't know he could do this until a few nights ago. I had taken him upstairs to get him ready for bed. I set him down on the floor to play with some of his toys while I got his medicine ready. I literally set him down, turned around, picked up the medicine bottle, and turned back around when I noticed the door was open, and Landon was gone. My heart sank, and I just kept picturing him tumbling down the stairs. I ran out and there he was half way down the stairs grinning from ear to ear. Needless to say, we have now baby proofed the door knobs up stairs, and a baby gate will be put up ASAP. One is already at the bottom of the stairs. (Have I mentioned that my house looks like a huge maze because of all the baby gates?!)

Another episode that we had with doors happened the very next day. Landon and I were working on some laundry, and we were going back and forth from my bedroom to the laundry room. On our last trip there, Landon ran ahead of me and shut and locked the door. He was locked in the bedroom and I was locked out. I couldn't get in, so I ran outside and started talking to him through the window. He was just standing there with his face scrunched up to the glass, laughing, and saying, "Hi, Momma". I tried to break in through the window, but it wouldn't budge. I was finally able to use a paper clip to get back in.

I'm telling ya, he is into everything. He is sooo funny, but he definitely keeps me on my toes and keeps me laughing. Can't you tell just by looking at this picture?! A little mischievous looking?

Exhausted

Landon loves to go the babysitter now. He used to cry when I left him there, but now he cries when he has to come home. I think it is because he plays nonstop while he is there. As you can see he plays so hard that the minute he comes in the door he is out like a light.

As soon as we walked in the door Landon laid down and fell immediately to sleep. He truly was all played out.

Arrrg Matey!!!!

My mom, dad, and sister spent 3 days in Chicago this week, and of course they bought Landon a bunch of souvenirs. One of them was this really cool Pirate hat from the Navy Pier. Landon loves it.

Potty Training Milestone #2

Okay, still no pictures with this one. Like I said it all happens so fast. Today Landon used the potty (by himself, without me or Paul prompting him to do so). The first time he still had his training pants on, but I didn't care because he walked right over to the potty, sat down, and peed. This was a huge step because up until this point Landon would practically run from the potty. After his accomplishment he knew he did something good. He was grinning from ear to ear and he gave me a high five.

Then later at bath time, Landon crawled out of the tub, went and sat on his potty and peed. Again, all by himself!!!! Now don't get me wrong, Landon is still a very good ways away from being potty trained but it is so exciting watching him as he begins to understand and learn this new process.

Easter 2010

Since Landon wasn't really old enough to understand getting gifts or the Easter bunny last year, this year I was so excited about telling Landon about the Easter Bunny coming to see him, but Landon wasn't as excited as I was. I think he was a little scared and didn't know what to expect. At first Landon ran away from his Easter Basket whining and saying "No-no". It was kind of funny and pitiful all at the same time. Once Paul started playing with the basket, Landon couldn't wait to dig in.

Once Landon is old enough to understand we will tell him the real reason for Easter, which is that Jesus loved us so much that he died on the cross for our sins, and that his love for us is unconditional. I want Landon to be able to enjoy these holidays like Easter and Christmas, but I also want him to understand the true meaning of these days.

After taking time to play with the goodies that the Easter Bunny left we got ready and went to church at New Harmony. Then went to eat with Nana, Papaw, Geri and Dustin. We wanted to be sure to see Nana, Papaw, and Geri because after lunch, they left for Chicago. Later that day Paul, Landon, and I played/worked outside. Landon even helped Paul pull the weeds out of the landscaping it was so cute.

Potty Training Milestone #1

Well, this is another post without pictures, but sometimes life happens to quickly for the camera. I haven't really been pushing potty training on Landon, but since he has been sick he has really been battling some BAD diaper rash. Until now, Landon has never really dealt with diaper rash, but he is dealing with it now. So in order to help him get over it we have been letting him "air out". I didn't really want him just running around naked so I put some training pants on him, and he took to them really well.
This afternoon Landon and I went to visit Nana, Papaw, and Geri, and we put some training pants on Landon and let him run around outside to play. He had the training pants on for about an hour and a half, and then I noticed that Landon was walking a little funny and kind of bouncing around. So I asked him if he needed to "pee-pee", and he started trying to pull the pants down. I helped him get them down and then he peed and pulled his pants right back up. Nana, Landon, and I were all so excited we cheered for Landon's awesome accomplishment. Once we got home from Nana and Papaw's Landon did it again. I know we are no where close to being Potty Trained, but I definitely think that we are on our way!!!!
