A Rockin' Good Playdate

This past Friday, one of our FAVORITE restaurants celebrated their one year anniversary, so we decided to attend. We all love going to Rockford's, especially Landon. He feels right at home there because everyone welcomes him with open arms and lots of hugs. He loves to listen and dance to the music, and we love the carefree atmosphere. So, we were pumped for their big night. We even had some friends (Amber, Chris, and Emma) meet us there. On the way there Landon fell asleep, so he was a little groggy when we went in. I was amazed at how many people were there. It was packed out. We stayed for a few songs, but had to leave a little early because it was so crowded. However, I am thrilled that Rockford's had such a great turn out. I wish we could have stayed longer, but Landon just wasn't up for it this time. We did get a few pictures before we left for the show though.

I think Landon looks like he is ready to Rock N Roll.
Mommy's little man. He is getting so big so fast.
After we left Rockford's Chris, Amber, and Emma all met back at our house so we could visit and catch up. The kids had a great play date, and after a long night of partying and playing, Emma and Landon decided it was time to cool down with a cold glass of milk. A good time was had by all.

Are Crayons Included in One of the Food Groups?

I have been working on coloring with Landon, but until recently all he would want to do was eat them. So, I would put them up and try again later. This week he finally started coloring and not eating the crayons, or so I thought. He waited until I got comfortable enough to leave him unattended for like a second, and then the next the I know, Landon has a blue mouth. Good thing, crayola is non-toxic.

The Get-A-Way Car

Last night I was trying to change Landon's diaper and in the middle of the task he decided he didn't want to wear his pjs anymore. So, I put his diaper on him and ran upstairs to get him some more clothes to put on. When I came back down stairs, this is what I found:
As I was coming down the stairs I could hear the sound of the tires of "Lightening Mcqueen" speeding across the hardwood floors and the sound of Landon laughing hysterically. He was having a good time riding his car in the nude.
He knew he was out for a joy ride! Of course I could resist taking a few pictures, but then he had to get dressed. He wasn't quiet as happy about that.

This Week Landon...

This week Landon actually went to the babysitters without crying BOTH days. The second day he actually got down, took his coat off, sat down on the floor by another little boy, and then started drinking his milk. This is a huge achievement for him because usually he either cries or at least clings to me/Paul and says no-no over and over. Now, don't get me wrong once Paul/I are gone, Landon does fine, it is just the act of actually leaving him that upsets him. So, I hope this means that we are turning a corner here and going to the babysitters won't be so hard on ALL of us.
Landon has started giving the sweetest hugs. Well, his hugs have always been sweet, but now they are even sweeter. He will take both arms and wrap them around you, and then he will go mmmm-mm. It is so cute, and it's like he is saying, "Yep, this is exactly where I want to be." Landon loves to share his hugs with his daddy.

This week Paul helped Steve move to his new house, and in the process found a little rocking chair that is perfect for Landon. Landon loves to have little seats that are just for him, and he especially loves to rock. So, I knew he would love this chair, and as you can see he did.

2 for 1: This Week Landon/Play Date

This week Landon and I got to spend a lot of time together due to the snow days. We had so much fun just hanging out around the house. We watched cartoons, ate all kinds of good food (maybe not good for you food), played, and took naps. What more could you ask for? Landon also picked up some new words: backpack, map, (Landon has really been paying attention to Dora the Explorer), and teacher (this came from Brown Bear Brown Bear). Landon also got to eat honey for the first time due to having a bad cold. It really did help. He also got to eat some fun dip at Briley's. He loved it.
This week Landon also got to have a playdate with Briley. They used to get together a lot more often but due to everyone's schedules, snow days, and all of us getting sick at different times they just haven't had as many. But it looks like they made up for lost time, and yes Landon's hair is wild and due for ANOTHER hair cut. By the way, Thanks for the pics Aaron.
Is it just me or do these kiddos look like they are all played out or what?

Aaron, I am so glad you got this picture. He makes this face all of the time except when I am trying to get him too. I am so glad I have it now.

This Week Landon

This week Landon had his 18 month checkup, and compared to his last few doctor's visits, he did great. I can't believe that we are done with all of the checkups. Where does the time go? He is right on track with his development, and of course a little on the small side. But the doctor wasn't worried about that at all.

Landon has also picked up a new word this week: Butterfly. It is so cute. He says "bafly". I love hearing him say it, just too sweet.

Landon has also decided that he must tell you "bye" every time he walks away from you. He will look at you, grin real big, throw is arm, and say "bye", and then laugh. Then he will just keep coming and going so that he can do it over and over.

There are so many other moments that I would love to share, but it would take way to long, so I guess this will have to do until next week. Bye.
