Birthday Boy!! Landon's 1!!!

Although Landon's birthday was the 22nd, we celebrated on the 25th. We had an awesome day planned for an outside party at our house with the blow-up slides, bouncy castles, kiddie pools, and other fun water toys, but to our disappoint, it rained. So, we went to plan B. We moved the party to the fellowship hall at Green River Chapel. We were even able to set up the bouncy castle, and everyone had a great time, especially Landon. He loved being able to play with all of his friends and family, and he couldn't wait to tear into his presents.
Landon got some really nice gifts. Nana and Papaw got him a Little Tykes slide, Aunt Geri got him a Lightening Mcqueen Ride-On toy, Mamaw and Grandaddy got him a ride on Four Wheeler, and we got him a travel DVD player. He got many other great gifts such as books, letters, and savings bonds. What a blessed little boy he is!!!

Although he made a pretty good mess of it, he wasn't real impressed with his cake, he like the hot dog much better. Even though Landon didn't seem impressed by his cakes, I loved them. They were so cute, and easy to serve.

Cupcakes are definitely the way to go.

After we got home, the weather cleared up, and Landon, his cousin Aiden, and our neighbors Levi and Gabby came over to enjoy the water toys. We called it, "The After Party" haha. I can't believe my baby is already one. It seems like it wasn't that long ago, that I was worried that I would never be blessed with a baby, and now I have a precious little boy, who is already 1!! Where does the time go?

On The Move

Although Landon has been taking steps for a while now, he has finally started walking. He is so excited about his new accomplishment. After he has made it to his new destination he will bounce up and down and clap his hands. Even though I am excited about him walking, I am going to miss seeing his little butt crawling around. What a big boy he is getting to be, ahh.

First Steps

Wow!! Landon is learning so much. Today he took his first two unassisted steps. Mom and I were sitting in the living room watching Landon cruise around the furniture, and Landon realized that his little push behind toy was just out of his reach. So, he mustered up his courage and did it. He let go of the couch and took two steps forward, and grabbed his push behind. Once he steadied himself he looked around to see if we saw, and then he started clapping for himself. Mom and I couldn't believe our eyes. We started clapping for him too, and then he just took off pushing his toy around the living room. I was so proud of him.

Landon has also started feeding himself with a spoon. Now, I'm not saying that this is a graceful feeding, but he is feeding himself. He gets it everywhere, but he doesn't care because he would rather feed himself and be messy, than me feed him. My little baby really is turning into Mr. Independent (tear). But really, isn't that what we want? Don't we want to raise a child that is independent and able to think and do for himself. I know it is, but I sure will miss these baby days one day. I am just trying to soak it all in while I can. Man, I love that kid.

This Is The Life

Today Landon and I spent the day with Nana and Papaw, and we all had such a good time. We started out the day playing with Landon in his little shade pool.

He loved it so much that I could not wait to put him in his little pool at home. He splashed around, rolled all over the pool, and played with all of his water toys. After he spent some time in the pool, Papaw took Landon for a ride on the four wheeler.

Landon was so cute all kicked back riding around the yard with Papaw. We all had such a good day together, and we are all blessed to have one another. Landon is especially blessed to be loved by so many wonderful people.

Growing So Fast

Landon is 9 months old now,

and he has been crawling for about 3 weeks now. He is so excited to be able to get to where he wants to go. Whenever he takes off crawling he looks around to see if you are watching. Sometimes he will even stop and take time to clap for himself. It is hilarious. He loves to explore and see what all he can get into. Now that he has mastered crawling he has also learned to climb the stairs, but he never let him do this alone, and there is always a baby gate up. He has also started pulling up, and he is so brave. Once he pulls up on the couch, chair, ottoman (you know whatever is close by), he will steady himself and then throw his hands in the air.

He has also learned how to dance while standing. He has always loved music, and now he has a new way to show it. He has also learned how to clap the correct way now. He has clapped up and down for sometime (his Nana taught him that), but now he has finally mastered the true Pat-a Cake style of clapping.

He is so playful, and he seems to be laughing all the time. Well, that is except for when I have to change is diaper or he is sleepy, but other than that he is in the best humor right now. I just can't get enough of my little guy.

Easter

We had a really good Easter. We went to church, and then we went to eat with my family. Landon not only received an Easter basket from the Easter bunny,

but he also got one from Nana and Papaw, Aunt Geri, Aunt Kim, and Mamaw and Grandpa. Everyone was so excited to celebrate Landon's first Easter with him.

We all enjoyed spending this time with Landon and doing the Easter basket thing, but once he gets a little older we will be sure that he knows what Easter is REALLY about, God's love for us, and that God loved us so much that he gave his only son. Amen!!
