You've Got Mail

This past weekend Landon received his first ever package in the mail.

The unexpected gift came from his Grammy Angie. She sent him the cutest little book, "The Pumpkin Patch Parable".

It compares how a farmer plants the pumpkin seeds and helps them grow, just like God plants his seed of love in us and helps us grow. For every page in the book, it also has scripture to go along with that page. It is such a sweet book, and I know Landon will continue to cherish it for years to come. Thank you Grammy Angie.

Cruisin' With My Friends

For Labor Day weekend, we decided to take Landon to the annual Central City Cruise In. We wasn't sure if Landon would be up for it since he never wants to ride in his stroller now that he is walking. But, to our amazement he did great. He rode in his stroller without fussing, he ate a hot dog, corn dog, and some funnel cake, but his favorite part was cruising with his friends. We ran into Eric, Kim, Whitley, and Alec, and they had the cutest stroller. Eric made the stroller himself, and Landon loved it. I know, I couldn't believe it, a stroller that Landon loved. But once I saw it, I could see why. It was adorable, and Landon thought that he was "driving" all over the place.

Landon also had a good time hanging out with all his other friends and family too.

Rub A Dub Dub, Landon's In The Tub

Landon has always loved the water. Bath time is definitely one of the highlights in Landon's day, but a couple of weeks ago that all changed. We were doing a photo shoot of Landon out by the creek at our neighbors house, and Landon lost his footing. He fell back into the water for a split second, but Super Dad Paul came running to the rescue and pulled Landon out. It really didn't even seem to phase Landon until the next night during bathtime. He just screamed and cried, and did his best to climb out of the tub. We could not figure out what was going on with him, and then it hit us. He was afraid of the water. We bought new bath toys, tried bubbles, tried putting him in the tub without water, but nothing would soothe him at bath time. That is until Mom suited up and joined Landon for his bath time.
He loved it, and for the first time in a week he actually sat down in the tub.

After about three more nights of bathing with Landon, we decided to let him try it again on his own, and he did great. You would never know that he had that short amount of time where he was afraid of the water. He is back to his normal splashing funny self in the tub.

What Once Was Old is New Again

I have been so tickled at Landon here lately. He has recently rediscovered his little bouncer seat. He hasn't been in it since he was 5 months old, but I just have never put it away. It has just been sitting in my bedroom floor. Well, Landon has decided that he likes it again. He will crawl up in it and play with the toys that are on it. He will even use his feet to make the seat start rocking. Whenever he starts to get sleepy, he will cuddle up in it and just sit quietly. It is so funny and sweet, but he looks so big to be in it, especially compared to when he was 5 months old.

Just Playing

Aaron just took Landon's one year pictures. He had so much fun playing in the creek and checking out his new surroundings. I can't believe my little baby is already a year old. Where does the time go?

The Great Outdoors

Landon loves to be outside playing. Just look at him go!!! He is having so much fun outside now that he is walking. He loved being outside when he was crawling, but now it's like he just can't do enough fast enough. I love just watching him toddle around the yard. It is so much fun to see all of his excitement and expressions as he learns new things about the world around him. Watching him find joy in the little things, feels me up with joy everyday. What a blessing!!!

Birthday Boy!! Landon's 1!!!

Although Landon's birthday was the 22nd, we celebrated on the 25th. We had an awesome day planned for an outside party at our house with the blow-up slides, bouncy castles, kiddie pools, and other fun water toys, but to our disappoint, it rained. So, we went to plan B. We moved the party to the fellowship hall at Green River Chapel. We were even able to set up the bouncy castle, and everyone had a great time, especially Landon. He loved being able to play with all of his friends and family, and he couldn't wait to tear into his presents.
Landon got some really nice gifts. Nana and Papaw got him a Little Tykes slide, Aunt Geri got him a Lightening Mcqueen Ride-On toy, Mamaw and Grandaddy got him a ride on Four Wheeler, and we got him a travel DVD player. He got many other great gifts such as books, letters, and savings bonds. What a blessed little boy he is!!!

Although he made a pretty good mess of it, he wasn't real impressed with his cake, he like the hot dog much better. Even though Landon didn't seem impressed by his cakes, I loved them. They were so cute, and easy to serve.

Cupcakes are definitely the way to go.

After we got home, the weather cleared up, and Landon, his cousin Aiden, and our neighbors Levi and Gabby came over to enjoy the water toys. We called it, "The After Party" haha. I can't believe my baby is already one. It seems like it wasn't that long ago, that I was worried that I would never be blessed with a baby, and now I have a precious little boy, who is already 1!! Where does the time go?
